GSP

Many years had passed before I was reminded of being a genuine girl scout. Yes, I have been wearing GSP uniform every Friday but what’s after that? Do I really live as one of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines with the promise and law? I am sorry that I didn’t thought of that before. I did not realize that as years pass, I forgot how a real girl scout should be. I almost forgot everything about GSP. Good thing that we are now active again in our school. Little by little, I can remember the values I learned from my experiences in being a girl scout.
Now, I can recite again the GSP promise and law. But of course, I will not just stop in reciting. I will do my best to do and live with those promises and laws. My passion in GSP came back. I am excited to have different activities. I like attending camps, singing GSP songs, meeting new friends and many more. I can’t wait for our investiture. Do you know what that is for? It is for us to be senior girl scouts. I started reading the handbook I have. From that handbook, I learned more things about GSP. One of my latest knowledge about GSP is the GS Handshake. Do you know that? Have you heard anything like that or about that?
GS handshake is like the usual handshake but using our left hands. There is a story behind this. They said that it is like warriors. They carry a sword on their right hand while a shield on their left hand. When they drop their shield, they will be defenseless but since they trust each other, there will be no chance for an attack to occur. Greeting of the girl scouts to each other by handshaking their left hand is extended in their trust and friendship. Just from a simple handshake as I first thought, I learned something.
