Bridges – 143

January is almost over and we are very busy. For this week, we should have regular classes but the teachers were doing many things. Most of them just gave us some seatwork.

Do you know what 143 means? It means “I love you”. And this week, I worked with Bridges every English time. I had chance to know the book better and to fell in love to it. Do you believe in me? Of course these are all not true. Who would be happy with that? Honestly, “Bridges – 143” is an expression. It all happened because for the whole week, we didn’t do any other things except reading stories and answering some questions in Bridges, an English book.

Medical Mission

Do you know Naic Doctors Hospital? It is located in Naic but I don’t know what exactly its address is however, I know where it is and I can go there alone. I mentioned about it because we, Interact members, were invited to join their medical mission since they were celebrating their 10th anniversary. We immediately accepted their invitation.

The medical mission was held on the 24th of January, Sunday. Thinking that we had classes from Monday to Saturday and now there’s still an activity on Sunday, I had a hard time to decide if I will really join. But at last, I still joined. My reason was because I know that I can help others in a little way with that medical mission. I also know that I will enjoy and I will have fun there.

When we arrived in the hospital, there were only few patients at first but after an hour or less, we started doing the tasks assigned to us. I was assigned with a doctor for internal medicine. The doctor read the ECG result and asks many other questions. I had fun working with him even if he didn’t really talk to me. He just talked to me to ask for the next patient but as I can see, he is a kind doctor.

After some time, they gave us snack. At first, I don’t want to eat but then I got hungry. I didn’t notice the time when I ate the snack given to us. Then lunch time came, I was not hungry anymore but I tried to eat. I only ate the vegetables and some of the rice. The medical mission ended at lunch so we just waited for some time then we went home. I am hoping that I can attend another medical mission like this. Thanks to NDH!

Saturday Classes

When our Saturday classes started, I want to forget about that day. I want to remove Saturday in the calendar, in my life. I am not exaggerating but it seemed to be like that. It’s like that day will never ever come.

There is really nothing wrong with having make-up classes if it’s really needed. I just hope that next time, if possible, there will be no assignments. What? We can make on Sunday? Sunday is the only day when we can spend time with our family. Don’t you have families? I am not angry at anyone. I can do assignments early if I want to so I can have time for my family. But many things may happen. What if...?

Like me, it is difficult for me to say no to my family especially now my mother with us whenever they are asking me if we can go somewhere. Do you know the feeling whenever I hear them saying “...minsan na nga lang tayo magkasama-sama”? ... I hope that this will soon end.

Robotics

I attended a class or seminar this Saturday in our school about Robotics. We had discussions at first. Our teacher is Sir Rox. After the discussion, he asked us to assemble the robot we will use. There are many small parts used that’s why we should be careful and organized so we will not lose any. They said that it is expensive so we should really take care of it. Our group was the first one to finish in making the robot. Before that session ended, we started programming so the robots will move. I agree to what Sir said, “It is fun to play robots but it is more fun to build it”.

New Year

On New Year’s Eve, we went first to my grandmother. We ate there together. Then after some time, we went to Mall of Asia. My parents planned to just watch the fireworks there. We already did that before. Maybe that was still last three years. It was good there because at 12:00, we can see the fireworks everywhere and they’re very beautiful. After the fireworks, we went to Tagaytay. We went home at lunch just to take a bath then we went back to my grandmother's house.
