GSP

Many years had passed before I was reminded of being a genuine girl scout. Yes, I have been wearing GSP uniform every Friday but what’s after that? Do I really live as one of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines with the promise and law? I am sorry that I didn’t thought of that before. I did not realize that as years pass, I forgot how a real girl scout should be. I almost forgot everything about GSP. Good thing that we are now active again in our school. Little by little, I can remember the values I learned from my experiences in being a girl scout.
Now, I can recite again the GSP promise and law. But of course, I will not just stop in reciting. I will do my best to do and live with those promises and laws. My passion in GSP came back. I am excited to have different activities. I like attending camps, singing GSP songs, meeting new friends and many more. I can’t wait for our investiture. Do you know what that is for? It is for us to be senior girl scouts. I started reading the handbook I have. From that handbook, I learned more things about GSP. One of my latest knowledge about GSP is the GS Handshake. Do you know that? Have you heard anything like that or about that?
GS handshake is like the usual handshake but using our left hands. There is a story behind this. They said that it is like warriors. They carry a sword on their right hand while a shield on their left hand. When they drop their shield, they will be defenseless but since they trust each other, there will be no chance for an attack to occur. Greeting of the girl scouts to each other by handshaking their left hand is extended in their trust and friendship. Just from a simple handshake as I first thought, I learned something.

Kultura

Can you notice the polo – shirt that most of the reporters are using? It is just a simple kind of polo – shirt with a small figure of the shape of the Philippines on the upper left side. When I noticed the polo – shirt, I hoped that one day I will have one of that. Often times, I am asking my family about the shirt as where can I buy and other things about it every time I see them on television.

One day, my brother came home and he told me that he saw the same style of shirt in Kultura section in SM Department Store. When we went to SM Bacoor, I searched for the shirt I want but there was none. My brother told me that maybe it was just in Mall of Asia. When we went to Mall of Asia, I saw some but not exactly the same with the one I want. We then remembered that there is another boutique of Kultura outside the department store. We went there and as we entered the boutique, I saw the polo – shirts immediately.

I was very excited to choose when I saw the different colors of the polo – shirts available. I only want a simple one. When I was searching for it, the white polo – shirt caught my attention. I asked for a medium size but there was none. I was disappointed but then, I had my second choice. I chose the blue one and at last, there was an available size. I had what I wanted. I was very thankful when my father paid for it. That is now my favorite shirt which is perfect since its color, blue, is also my favorite color.

3 – D

Do you know about the 3 – D movies?

I am not that innocent with that kind of movies. I had tried watching a 3 – D movie but twice or thrice only and it was, I think, three or more years ago. Just a week before my birthday, we went to Mall of Asia. We first ate lunch there. Then when were window shopping, we saw the posters for the showing movies. We thought of watching Transformers at first then we changed and ended up in watching Up. We chose the 3 – D version. We didn’t buy any food since we just had our lunch. When we entered the theater, they gave us the eye glasses which we will use to see the 3 – D effects in the movie. I enjoyed watching. It felt like I became a kid again. The story is about the adventures of an old man, the main character, with a young boy in scouting uniform.

I liked the movie. It has plenty of lessons. One of its lessons is about sacrificing things for the betterment of the others. I learned that I should be very careful in making decisions and always try to do the right thing. I should not be afraid to explore and have adventures in life.

Exciting Birthday

It was still two weeks before my birthday but I had been planning many things for that day. I thought of celebrating my birthday with my friends and of course with my family too. But it will be difficult for me since they are not close. It will also be difficult for me to manage my time or with whom I will be with.

I decided to celebrate with my family on my birthday, September 10, then with my friends on the next day. Some of my friends are also my classmates so it will be better to have fun on Friday than on Thursday, my birthday. The reason for that is for us to not think about tomorrow, like about our assignments. I will let anything to happen on my birthday but after that, I will do my plans. I planned to treat my friends in McDonalds. I had been estimating the amount of money I need for that day. I had a list for my guests. I also decided the meals they can order which I can afford. I want my birthday this year to be really memorable that’s why I am working hard for it. I know that it will not happen as what I planned but still, I will do my best for it to be fun.

I really enjoyed planning for my birthday. I am so excited and I can’t wait for that day to come. I hope that everything will be fine and all of us will be happy.
